1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information depending on how you sign in:

• Google Sign-In: Your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google.
• Apple Sign-In: Your name and email address (or an anonymised relay email if you choose to hide your email).
• Email & Password: Your email address and a securely hashed password.

App Usage Data

• Band and team information you create (band name, member roles, service schedules).
• Songs, chord charts, and lyrics you create or import.
• Messages you send in band chats.
• Recordings you capture within the app (stored locally on your device by default).
• Tuner and metronome usage (not stored on our servers).

Technical Data

• Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• Crash reports and anonymised performance data to help us fix bugs.
• Firebase analytics events (anonymised) such as feature usage frequency.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the GOBAND service.
• Enable band collaboration features including shared setlists and band chat.
• Sync your data across your devices via Firebase.
• Send you important service notifications (e.g. service reminders, new member joins).
• Improve app performance and fix bugs using anonymised crash data.
• Respond to support requests sent to hello@gobandapp.com.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Band Chat & Messages

GOBAND includes a band chat feature that allows team members to communicate within the app. Please be aware:

• Messages are stored in Firebase Firestore and are accessible to all members of your band.
• Band admins can remove members and, in doing so, revoke their access to the chat history.
• We do not read or moderate your messages unless required by law or to investigate a reported abuse.
• Do not share sensitive personal or financial information in the band chat.

4. Firebase & Third-Party Services

GOBAND is built on Google Firebase, which provides our backend infrastructure. Firebase services we use include:

• Firebase Authentication — for sign-in via Google, Apple, or email.
• Firebase Firestore — for storing bands, songs, schedules, and chat messages.
• Firebase Storage — for storing profile photos and assets.
• Firebase Analytics — for anonymised usage analytics.
• Firebase Crashlytics — for crash reporting.

When you sign in with Google or Apple, those services' own privacy policies also apply.

5. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on Firebase servers, which are hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS).
• Passwords are never stored in plain text — Firebase Authentication handles credential security.
• Access to your band data is restricted to verified band members only.
• We regularly review our security practices, but no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong password and keep your device secure.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data via your account settings.
• Delete your account and all associated data by emailing hello@gobandapp.com.
• Export your songs and setlists from within the app.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under GDPR. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children's Privacy

GOBAND is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of GOBAND after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
